Director, Professional Education and Medical Affairs

Responsible for leading the design and execution of assigned medical affairs, procedural development and professional education activities for TMTT in Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct medical affairs activities (e.g., scientific communications, professional education, IIS, grants allocation)

Plan and direct strategic activities including prioritizing and selecting appropriate projects with overall responsibility for meeting business objectives. Lead in identifying risk, developing complex mitigation strategies, best practices, alternative solutions, resolving issues, etc. in collaboration with cross functional and/or matrix teams

Analyze, formulate and present recommendations to advise and guide executive level leadership; develop and deliver executive level communication

Act as a resource and technical subject matter expert on complex medical affairs challenges with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Quality, R&D)

Other incidental duties (member of compassionate case committee, etc.)


Education and Experience:

Master's Degree or equivalent relevant experience required

Demonstrated track record in people management preferred

M.D. & Interventional Cardiologist with experience in structural heart diseases strongly preferred

Experience working in a pharmaceutical or medical device industry preferred

Proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Proven successful project management leadership skills

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making

Expert understanding of business strategy, competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and clinical data while looking beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems

In-depth understanding of cardiovascular diseases and therapies

Practical knowledge of clinical and biostatics

Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of medical affairs to the business

Serves as core partner to senior leaders in Business Units, Functional Groups, and Regions
Strict attention to detail
