ESC Advocacy

ESC is a proud co-founder of several high profile European partnerships that support the same mission to improve public health and patient care.

Alliance for Biomedical Research in Europe (BioMed Alliance)

Horizon Europe, the upcoming EU framework programme for research, will soon succeed Horizon 2020. This may have a direct impact on EU funds available for health research from 2020. The ESC is calling for Horizon Europe to:

  • Increase funding for medical research as CVD remains the world's leading killer and medical research has a major impact on life expectancy and the quality of life
  • Push for CVD specific calls to ensure continued innovation and research excellence

Find out more about how ESC and other medical research organisations, through the Alliance of BioMedical Research in Europe, are advocating to ensure that Horizon Europe will deliver for CVD research.

Read the BioMed Alliance position paper.
