While these activities are organised independently by the ESC, their costs are offset indirectly and in part by funding that the ESC receives from the healthcare industry. Over the years, numerous examples of collaborations between the ESC and Industry have led to giant strides in advancing healthcare solutions in cardiology and we strongly believe that nurturing these relationships is essential to further advancing global standards in the field. All parties involved have something to bring to the table: resources, intellectual contribution and more importantly – a shared mission, a shared vision: to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease.
The ESC undertakes the aforementioned activities in strict compliance with relevant codes to ensure objectivity, transparency and integrity.
The ESC requires those members contributing to its activities to apply the ESC Code of Ethics, the ESC Declaration and Management of Conflict of Interest Policy and the Code of Ethics of the Alliance for Biomedical Research in Europe.
