Dear friends and colleagues,We would like to officially inform you that the EACPR Board has taken the difficult decision to cancel EuroPRevent 2016 which was scheduled to take place in Istanbul from 5 – 7 May 2016. This is the first time in the history of EACPR/ESC congresses that we have had to make such an important, impactful decision. Numerous concerns were expressed by delegates, sponsors, and faculty alike in the past few weeks, and based on the safety risk; we feel this is the most sensible decision to make for everybody's safety and well being. We acknowledge the extraordinary efforts and collaboration of the Turkish Society of Cardiology and the local partners during the preparation of the congress. Given the importance of spreading the most updated scientific information in cardiovascular prevention throughout our community we are currently exploring our options and will come back to you as soon as possible. Should you have any queries please contact firstname.lastname@example.orgAntonio Pelliccia, EACPR President Jean Paul Schmid, Congress Programme Committee ChairLale Tokgozoglu, Local Host and Congress Programme Committee co-chair
