The ‘Third EACPR Training Course on the Use of Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing in Cardiology’ was held on 8 and 9 November 2013 in Veruno, Italy.
The course is promoted on an annual basis by the Exercise, Basic and Translational Research Section of the EACPR, and organised in collaboration with the Exercise Pathophysiology Laboratory - Cardiac Rehabilitation Division of the S. Maugeri Foundation IRCCS, Scientific Institute of Veruno, Italy, an Institution with a long-lasting experience in both clinical management and functional evaluation of cardiac patients.
The course aims to promote the knowledge and use of cardiopulmonary exercise testing in cardiology, offering participants the opportunity to meet well-known experts in the field, assist in live demonstrations of cardiopulmonary exercise testing and discuss clinical cases.
20 attendants from 14 countries of 3 continents participated in the course.
Faculty presentations were followed by animated discussions, and much appreciated was the Antoine Lavoisier Lecture on ‘Integrating cardiopulmonary exercise testing data into the clinical context: a multiparametric approach‘ given by Prof. P. Agostoni from the University of Milan, Italy. As for the previous editions, both course scientific content and quality of organisation were ranked very high by attendants in the final EBAC Evaluation Form.
The ‘Fourth EACPR Training Course on the Use of Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing in Cardiology’ will be held on 7 and 8 November 2014 (provisional date, to be confirmed) at the Salvatore Maugeri Foundation IRCCS, Scientific Institute of Veruno, Veruno, Italy.
The target audience of the course is formed by Cardiologists, Physiotherapists, Nurses, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Specialists and Exercise Physiologists.The number of participants will be limited to 40, and registrations will be accepted on a first come-first served basis.Further information will be available here.
