The EAPC has developed a structured educational pathway based on the Preventive Cardiology Curriculum, offering different formats and resources covering cardiovascular risk factors, prevention and management of cardiovascular disease.

EAPC Curriculum

The EAPC Core Curriculum for Preventive Cardiology is the first common European educational framework for preventive cardiology. It will help standardise, structure, deliver, and evaluate training in preventive cardiology across Europe and pave the way towards a well-recognised sub-specialty in cardiology.

This comprehensive eLearning programme consists of specialised courses designed to enhance your understanding of key topics in cardiovascular disease prevention, and prepare for the EAPC Certification. Four courses are available:

• Cardiometabolic Syndrome, Diabetes, and Obesity: This course aims to explore the pathophysiology, screening methods, risk stratification, lifestyle changes, emerging biomarkers, and therapeutic strategies for managing Cardiometabolic Syndrome. See more
• Dyslipidemia: This course aims to enhance awareness of dyslipidemias as a modifiable cardiovascular risk factor, covering screening strategies, treatment goals, non-pharmacological and pharmacological therapies, statin intolerance, and rare lipid disorders. See more
• Kidney and Hypertension in CVD Prevention: This course explores the pathophysiology of heart-kidney interactions, screening and assessing kidney disease, cardiovascular risk in kidney patients, treatment targets, hypertension management, and the clinical use of novel cardiovascular and renal drugs. • Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: This course focuses on diagnosing and managing hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, including screening, risk stratification, family screening, genetic implications, novel treatments, and septal reduction therapy. See more

The EAPC Certification programme seeks to set a standard for competency and excellence in the field of preventive cardiology across Europe and beyond.
