EuroIntervention News - March 2013

Official Journal of EuroPCR and the EAPCI

EuroIntervention Expedited Editorial Publication (EEP)

An “EEP” is publication strategy reserved for papers of timely and topical interest. It allows an accepted paper to be prepared and processed for quick publication in an efficient and prompt fashion.

On 28 January, the “Consensus document on the radial approach in Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions: position paper by the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) and Working Groups on Acute Cardiac Care* and Thrombosis of the European Society of Cardiology” was published as an EEP by EuroIntervention.

This particular EEP was accompanied by an eblast, an email announcement that reached approximately 30,000 readers from our database. A single EuroIntervention tweet over this paper reached 4,526 twitter accounts.

Within the first 24 hours after publication, the resulting usage data generated was impressive:
  • 3,231 pages viewed
  • 627 PDFs downloaded (free of charge)
  • 158 slide sets downloaded from our dedicated website.

Moreover, the European Society of Cardiology put a special highlight on its homepage which resulted in a total of 972 pageviews.
The article was also promoted on EAPCI homepage and publication page as well as in the web section of the ESC Working Group on Thrombosis.

These slide sets of published papers are a relatively new feature and freely available to EuroIntervention readers.

The document is available online: download (log in required).

* The Working Group on Acute Cardiac Care has evolved to the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACCA) by vote at the General Assembly of the ESC Congress 2012 held in Munich, Germany.
