Atrial fibrillation and supraventricular tachycardia

This topic is a part of the e-learning programme (ESCeL) on acute cardiovascular care which offers a portfolio of 79 chapters among 11 sections.

On completion of this topic, the acute cardiac care specialist will be able to:

  • recognise and correctly interpret the clinical and ECG aspects of the SVT
  • make the differential diagnosis between different types of SVT
  • identify ECG clues for differential diagnosis between supraventricular tachycardias and ventricular arrhythmias
  • provide the appropriate therapy

These courses are based on the textbook chapter: Atrial fibrillation and supraventricular arrhythmias of the ESC Textbook of Intensive and Acute Cardiovascular Care, 2nd Edition (2015) by Demosthenes Karistis and John Camm.

What’s inside?

This topic comprises five core courses:

  • atrial fibrillation and supraventricular arrhythmias
  • epidemiology and clinical presentation of supraventricular arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation
  • therapy of supraventricular arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation in the acute setting
  • anticoagulation management for atrial fibrillation associated with different acute conditions
  •  management of supraventricular arrhythmia and atrial fibrillation during pregnancy

Each course ends with a MCQ test.
