Aortic Emergencies

This topic is a part of the E-learning programme (ESCeL) on Acute Cardiovascular Care which offers a portfolio of 79 chapters among 11 sections.

The topic comprises four core courses which when completed provide a detailed overview of aortic emergencies.

The aim is to improve knowledge in this area thereby improving patient outcomes.

Several key areas are discussed in more detail in other courses of the ESCeL project, including:

  • Chest pain and chest pain units
  • Echocardiography and thoracic ultrasound
  • Computed tomography angiography and other applications of computed tomography

 

These courses are based on the chapter: 62. Aortic Emergencies of the ESC Textbook of Intensive and Acute Cardiovascular Care, 2nd edition 2015 by Parla Astarci, Laurent de Kerchove and Gébrine el Khoury
