Pre-hospital Care Study Group

of the Association for Acute CardioVascular Care

Promoting studies, registries and educational initiatives in the pre-hospital management of acute cardiovascular conditions.

Founded by Eva Swhan (SW) in 2008, and after the publication of a position paper on pre-hospital management of STEMI, it marked a long pause before being brought back to the scene of ACVC by Farzin Beygui (FR).

Based on the enlarged scope of acute cardiovascular care and considering the importance of the pre-hospital phase into the entire acute cardiovascular care process , ACCA is investing in diversities in main attitude in emergency situations (in regions and countries) in order  to make some recommendations on optimised behaviour.

The study group aims to be a bridge between different actors of pre-hospital care (emergency specialists, paramedics, general practitioners…) and those managing patients after hospital admission (cardiologists, intensivists, surgeons, radiologists…)

Pre-hospital Cardiac Care Position paper ( August 2015)

ACVC, EUSEM and ERC are closely collaborating to improve the quality of the management of acute cardiac conditions.

This is the first paper ever on the specific prehospital management of chest pain and dyspnea

It is symptom based so particularly useful for emergency specialists in the PH setting.

It provides recommendations on practical aspects of medication and equipment on board, competence and destination of patients
