  Discover the ACVC Biomarker Talk Series

A series of 12 concise and interactive online sessions on biomarkers, covering the full spectrum of the topic. Each talk will be followed by an editorial article published in the EHJ-ACVC on the topic.

Learning objectives

After watching this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • identify clinical and laboratory variables associated with a high risk of death and/or the need for mechanical ventilation;
  • understand that cardiomyocyte injury and (sub)clinical heart failure are the most frequent cardiac complications in COVID-19;
  • appreciate that high sensitivity cardiac troponin and natriuretic peptides are strongly associated with death and/or need for ICU admission and may help clinicians; and
  • know that novel biomarkers g. GDF-15) also may have value, but need further study.
