The CBCS Summer School 2025 is organised by the Council on Basic Science. This biennial event aims to inspire a new generation of basic cardiovascular science leaders taken from among the most gifted science and medical graduates.
It targets mainly early stage researchers (PhD and MD/PhD students in the first three years of their research) plus a few more experienced researchers whose PhD degree was obtained within the last 2 years.
From 1 to 4 June, this 9th edition of the CBCS Summer School brought together brilliant early-career researchers for hands-on learning, lively discussion, and inspiration from leaders in basic science.
49 participants met with 22 faculty and gained in-depth knowledge in the field of cardiovascular disease in a focused academic environment.
A big thank you to the ESC Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science for making this thriving community possible – and to all attendees who are driving discovery forward and shaping the next 75 years of innovation.

Our mission: To reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease.
