ESC Preventive Cardiology 2024, Athens, 25-27 April

Abstract results are now available

The ESC Scientific Programme Committee would like to thank all the contributors who have chosen ESC Preventive Cardiology to submit their original research. 



The  ESC Preventive Cardiology Programme Committee would like to acknowledge the members of the Abstract Reviewing Committee for their essential contribution to the abstract programme. 

All Abstract submitters have been notified by email about the status of their abstract(s) and can 

View the results from their My ESC account by signing in first. 

How to confirm the abstract presentation

STEP 1 - The submitter must sign in to her/his My ESC account with the email and password used at the time of submission to consult the abstract presentation day, time and format. 

STEP 2 - The submitter must select and confirm the presenter from the list of authors by 20 February.

STEP 3 - The presenter selected in STEP 2 will receive instructions on how to confirm the presentation and submit the related agreement form. 
This confirmation should be done as soon as possible to ensure the abstract information is accurate in the scientific programme.

STEP 4 - The presenter must register to the congress - you benefit from the early fee until 27 February 2024.

STEP 5 - The presenter can start preparing her/his presentation by consulting the Presenter Guidelines

Not only will your science feature at the congress, but it will also be published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology - abstract supplement (June 2024).

Important dates

End January 2024 - Abstract results announcement. A notification email has been sent to each submitter.
27 February 2024 - Early fee registration deadline.
Early February 2024 - Opening of the upload platform. A notification will be sent to each presenter. 
21 March 2024 - Deadline for presenters to register and upload presentations. Failure to upload and register to the congress by this deadline will lead to the withdrawal of the clinical case from the scientific programme and all related publications.

Presentation Formats

All presenters will be required to present their research onsite in Athens. 
Selected abstracts will be assigned to different presentation formats:
Young Investigator Award Session (YIA)
Four YIA sessions will be held onsite chaired by senior faculty members:

  • Secondary prevention and rehabilitation
  • Primary care and risk factor management
  • Population Science and public health
  • Sports cardiology and exercise

Each finalist will present the key points of his/her research followed by a Questions & Answers period led by a panel of experts who will judge the presentations and determine the winners and runners-up.

  • Submit in this category to benefit from:
    • Award Certificate
    •  Winner prizes: € 500 and a complementary EAPC Silver Membership
  •  Conditions:
    • Your abstract(s) must be accepted at ESC Preventive Cardiology 2024 in a Young Investigators Award Session
    • You must be the presenter of your abstract(s)
    • You must be under 40 years old

  • Selection process: the selection committee has selected the final top scoring abstracts to appoint the finalists. The selected abstracts will be presented to a jury in a dedicated session including a questions and answers section


Abstracts not selected for a YIA session have been automatically considered for oral presentations. 

Rapid Fire Oral Abstract sessions
The highest graded abstracts have been selected to be presented orally during the rapid-fire abstract sessions which will be held onsite moderated by senior faculty members.

Moderated Posters
Abstracts selected for presentation in a Moderated Poster session will be presented orally in a dedicated area and will be moderated by senior faculty members.

Paper Posters
Abstracts selected as Paper Posters will be displayed in a dedicated area onsite..
