ESC Preventive Cardiology 2023, Malaga, 13-15 April

The EAPC Congress Programme Committee would like to thank all the contributors who have chosen ESC Preventive Cardiology 2023 to submit their original research.

You will need to sign in to your My ESC account.

Confirm the abstract presentation

STEP 1 - The submitter must sign in to her/his My ESC account with the email and password used at the time of submission to consult the abstract presentation day, time and format. 

STEP 2 - The submitter must select and confirm the presenter from the list of authors by 15 January.

STEP 3 - The presenter selected in STEP 2 will receive instructions on how to confirm the presentation and submit the related agreement form. 

This confirmation should be done as soon as possible to ensure the abstract information is accurate in the scientific programme.

STEP 4 - The presenter must register to the congress - benefit from the early fee until 14 February 2023.

STEP 5 - The presenter can start preparing her/his presentation to upload it by the set deadline, as indicated in the agreement form. Review the Presenter Guidelines.

Not only will your science feature at the congress, but it will also be published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology - abstract supplement (May 2023), and gain extra visibility on ESC 365, the cardiology knowledge hub.

Key dates

Mid December 2022 - Abstract results announcement. An email will also be sent to each submitter.

14 February 2023 - Early fee registration deadline.

Mid January 2023 - Upload opening.

15 March 2023 - Deadline to upload your presentation and register for the congress.

22 March 2023 - Extended deadline to upload your presentation and register for the congress.

Presentation Formats

All presentations are planned to take place in person in Malaga.

Accepted abstracts are organised in different session types throughout the programme:

Awards sessions - Young Investigator Award Competition

4 sessions, one per section (population science, primary care, secondary prevention and cardiac rehabilitation, sports cardiology), dedicated to young researchers aged under 40 - selected for the outstanding quality of their work, and presenting top research in the field. 

All selected finalists will be receiving free registration to ESC Preventive Cardiology 2023 and an award certificate.

Winner prize:

  • €500
  • a complimentary EAPC Silver membership
  • An award certificate

Each finalist will have 7 minutes to present the research, followed by 4 minutes Q&A from the Jury members.  
Scoring will be based on the following criteria:  Originality, Scientific Content, Presentation and Answers to Questions. 

The session will present recent findings in the field of Cardiology which can impact practice/research.

Rapid Fire Abstracts sessions

The highest graded abstracts of each section (population science, primary care, secondary prevention and cardiac rehabilitation, sports cardiology) have been selected to be presented orally during the rapid-fire abstract sessions which will be held onsite moderated by senior faculty members.

Moderated ePoster sessions

Moderated ePosters will be featured in a dedicated area during the event in Malaga. Sessions organised by section (population science, primary care, secondary prevention and cardiac rehabilitation, sports cardiology)will be moderated by two chairpersons, experts in the topic.

ePoster sessions

Selected research will be presented in an electronic poster format (ePoster).
