Types of sessions

The following session types are organised by the Congress Programme Committee:   

Symposia

Symposia.jpgAllows for in-depth discussions on developments and advances in the various fields of prevention and structured around three to four presentations.

 

Featured Symposia 

Selected abstracts with content related to pre-arranged sessions of the Scientific Programme

A way to combine expert presentation and recent research on the topic. 

A perfect mix of original contributions and lectures.

Masterclass

Presenting educational sessions in sequence focusing on a specific topic.

How-to sessions

Provides practical information and has great educational value - a session devoted to the demonstration by experts of their practical approach to specific procedures.

Case-based sessions

Clinical sessions bringing you the knowledge you expect in the most interactive and practical manner. These patient-oriented, case-based sessions are lead by experts and linked towards patient management covering practical and technical aspects of the topics proposed.

Debate sessions

Speakers will give educational presentations to be followed by intense discussions.

This session format provides a lively balanced discussion on controversial issues.

Abstract-based Sessions

These sessions are based on original scientific contributions chosen after our call for abstracts. A unique opportunity for all to actively participate in the scientific programme.

Young Investigator Award Sessions

IMG_EuroPrevent_2017_YIA_Winners.jpgA competition designed for abstract presenters 35 years old or under.
Finalists will receive free registration to come to Malaga to present their research. They will be judged by a panel of experts who will determine a winner. The winners will be offered €500 prize and a complementary EAPC membership.

The European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC) puts great emphasis on presentations of young investigators, as they are the future of the field and to support young PHD's, peers and researchers from all continents.

Rapid Fire - Oral abstract sessions

Fast-paced and providing plenty of exchange between the audience and the presenter. Discussions will be led by experts chairing the session. Presenters will summarise their research in five slides and interact with the audience on the key messages.

Moderated poster sessions

Research in a poster format presented to an appointed moderator in front of an audience during the inter-session coffee breaks. Presenters are in competition for the "Best Moderated Poster" to win €200 prize. The audience is welcome to join in the discussion.

Poster sessions

Posters consist of a visual display of the research in the form of a poster - Posters will be visited by dedicated senior scientists during the coffee breaks.

Poster sessions are a very popular platform where our community truly comes together to network and exchange.
