Call for Clinical Cases

Call for Clinical Cases is now closed. 

We would like to thank all submitters for their contribution. 

Results will be announced early May.

Important Dates 

• Early May 2024 – Clinical Case results announcement. A notification email will be sent to each submitter
• 31 May 2024 – Early fee registration deadline – All case presenters must register to the congress
• 30 June 2024 - Deadline for the assigned presenters to confirm presentation(s) and submit the related agreement form(s)
• 1 August 2024 - Deadline for presenters to register and upload presentations. Failure to upload and register to the congress by this deadline will lead to the withdrawal of the clinical case from the scientific programme and all related publications.

Clinical Case Programme

The ESC Committee for Young Cardiovascular Professionals will design a very strong, practical, educational and interactive programme. All clinical cases sessions will be featured in the dedicated Clinical Case Corners.

Best Clinical Cases Awards Session

ONLY Presenters under 40 years at the time of presentation, ie born after 02 September 1984, will be eligible to compete in this session - More information on the presentation format will be sent to the presenters whose case has been accepted after the results announcement.

The four best cases will be presented in this session. 
Presenters will be in competition and their presentation evaluated on the following criteria:

• Originality of the case
• Case Management
• Presentation (demonstrating learning points from the case)
• Answers to questions

The results of the competition will be announced during the Awards Ceremony. Each finalist will receive an Award certificate and a prize - €1 500 for the winner and €800 for each runner-up. Each finalist of the Award session will benefit from free registration to the congress.

Clinical Case Sessions

Presenting your clinical case during ESC Congress 2024 will allow you to give your work worldwide long-term exposure and multinational connections with all subspecialty professionals.

Clinical cases will be presented in highly interactive and educational sessions, that will be moderated by two experts on the topic, who will facilitate interaction with the audience, prompt discussions, and challenge the presenters.

Case presentations will then be featured on ESC 365 - the cardiology knowledge hub

European Heart Journal – Case Reports (EHJ-CR)

Four cases amongst the top-rated ones will be selected by the Editorial Team of the EHJ-CR and offered the opportunity to be published in the European Heart Journal – Case Reports, free of charge. Authors whose case is selected will be contacted accordingly.
