Heart Failure Congress Grants

This year again, the HFA will support the presentation of top-notch research at the congress by offering travel grants to abstract submitters around the world who have little or no access to funding or difficulties in obtaining financial assistance. 



Application process

First, please ensure that your My ESC profile is up to date.

Log into My ESC

Indeed, important selection criteria will be automatically selected from your My ESC profile: please check the fields “My personal details” and “My activities”.

When your profile is up to date, fill in the electronic application form!

NB: you will be required to upload your CV.

Submit

You will receive confirmation of your application by email shortly after submitting it online; and you can check the status of your application at any time in your My ESC profile.

Remarks:

  • The official language of this application is English
  • All fields are mandatory; incomplete application forms will not be considered

Eligibility

All applicants must meet two mandatory criteria: 

  • Be the 1st author of an abstract or clinical case accepted for presentation at Heart Failure 2018 - submit your science now!
  • Be a member of the Heart failure specialists Of Tomorrow (HOT) - become a member now!

The following criteria, selected by the HFA Board, will be considered during the application process:

  • Age at time of application submission: priority will be given to younger applicants
  • Country of origin: priority will be given to applications from 'low income' countries (as per World Bank Listing) and Eastern European countries
  • Quality of abstract: priority will be given to top-graded abstracts
  • Profession: priority will be given to non-clinicians

After grading, submissions will be individually reviewed and selected by the selection committee.

Each individual grant includes

  • Free registration to Heart Failure 2018 in Vienna
  • Travel allowance of 300€

Timeline

Applications open: November 2017

Applications close: 19 January 2018

Announcement of results: 3 March 2018

All applicants will be informed by email, whether their application has been successfully received. At any time, applicants may also check the status of their application by logging into My ESC
