Travel to Leipzig



The city of Leipzig can be reached via its international airport, by train or by car.

By Air

The Leipzig/Halle Airport is about 30 minutes away from the centre of Leipzig. There are regular trains from the main terminal to Leipzig Central Station .
If there are no direct flights to Leipzig from where you live, we recommend you to either flying to:

  • Frankfurt & Munich so that you will directly land in the Leipzig Airport that is located 15km from the Congress Centre Leipzig (CCL).
  • Berlin (about 2 hours away from Leipzig by rail), Frankfurt am Main or Hanover (both of which are about 3½ hours away from Leipzig by rail). Leipzig is served by a regular rail service to and from all three cities.

By Rail

InterCity and InterCityExpress trains travel from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station) to the major European cities. Leipzig's Central Railway Station is located in the city centre.

By Car

To reach Leipzig by car, take the A9 autobahn (Berlin – Nuremberg) or the A14 (Halle - Dresden).
