Journals:
Heart is the official journal of the British Cardiac Society and has been published since 1939. Heart (formerly British Heart Journal) is an international peer reviewed journal that keeps cardiologists up to date with advances in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, through 12 issues a year.
Topics covered include coronary disease, electrophysiology, valve disease, imaging techniques, congenital heart disease (fetal, paediatric and adult), heart failure, surgery, and basic science. Each issue contains an extensive continuing professional education section (Education in Heart) and JournalScan highlighting important papers from outside the cardiology literature. In 2007 Heart introduced a feature on reviews of technology used in cardiovascular medicine as well as a medicolegal section. Heart offers case based interactive learning - which is available on BMJ Online Learning.
