The European Society of Cardiology were happy to be able to join forces with the German Cardiac Society at their 73rd annual meeting, by sharing an information stand and participating in a joint session. The new concept of "joint stands", consisting of a staffed ESC information point on the stand of a national society at their annual conference, was appreciated by participants, showing the very close relationship between the ESC and this important national society.
The conference as such was extremely well attended, with over 7,500 participants, and 1949 scientific presentations. A joint session between the DGK and the ESC was held on Thursday 12 April, co-chaired by ESC President Kim Fox, FESC. More joint information stands and joint activities with our national societies are planned for 2007 and beyond. More information:
