Mission statement:
The aim of the Society shall be directed towards professional, non-political activities, in order to associate its members with European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and to establish communication and cooperation with regional and international associations of similar interests.
The Society shall promote and coordinate scientific, philanthropic, intellectual and professional activities of its members without ambition to acquire profit. Its goal is serving to public good through supporting science, education and research in the field of cardiology. In the Statute of the Society the term ‘cardiology’ is referred to ‘diagnostic and interventional cardiology and medical imaging’.
In particular, the aims of the Society are:
- Improving the progress of cardiology and similar sciences by supporting the education, research and management, in order to improve quality and accessibility of safe cardiological service for patients of Montenegro;
- Informing the institutions and population about the activities in cardiology;
- Saving the unity of cardiologists;
- Coordinating and improving the teaching and examining programs in accordance with recommendations and programs issued by ESC, in order to assure the equivalent education for cardiology professionals;
- Establishing and promoting the favourable relationships between cardiologists and other members of medical profession, as well as with other scientific, professional and producing organisation which are closely related to the progress of cardiology;
- Representing the interests of Montenegrin cardiologists to the institutions and NGOs, such as: TheEuropean Community, national governments, World Health Organisation, The International Atomic Energy Agency, etc;
- Promoting of the exchange of information between cardiologists in the region, Europe and world;
- Establishing and support to research projects in the field of cardiology;
- Promoting and supporting the participation of cardiologists in regional congresses and journals, especially in European Congress of Cardiology;
- Presenting the interests of cardiologists of Montenegro, in order to improve ethical, technical and material conditions of their activities and functioning;
- Promoting and enhancement of cardiological management and equipment, in order to improve the efficiency of the work of cardiologists.
