
The European Society of Cardiology endeavours to provide high quality services to the Fellowship community all year long.
At the ESC Congress 2008, Fellows who had made it to Munich were delighted to benefit from the following advantages:
- Priority hotel booking
- Fast track registration through the Fellows Registration Desk
- Gold badge for the status recognition
- Fellows Lounge access
The Newly elected Fellows for 2008 took part in the following special ceremonies:
- A Special mention during the Congress Opening Ceremony
- A dedicated Ceremony followed by a celebration cocktail
- A Fellowship Diploma for personalised recognition of Fellowship status
Priority hotel booking: prior to Congress, Fellows were able to reserve and choose the hotel that suited them best.

At the Fellows Registration Desk in the easily identifiable Registration Hall, red carpeting and red ropes emphasized the privileged status of the ESC Fellows.
Three dedicated hostesses delivered 686 FESC Gold badges without delay to those Fellow that were not registered to receive their badge prior Congress.
The FESC Gold badge symbolises outstanding professional achievement, the prestige of being an ESC Fellow and the membership of an “elite” group. The Gold badge also increases the recognition of ESC Fellows.
Opposite the Fellows Registration Desk, was situated the Fellows Congress Bag Desk. A desk specially reserved for ESC Fellows to collect their congress bags, with 1083 bags distributed in total during the Congress.
The Fellows Lounge; a room of 448 m2 exclusively for FESC, fully serviced with computers, a printer, internet facilities, full time catering, plug' n' play
connections for personal laptops, Wifi and a full time IT technician.
To ensure that we continue to provide you with the best possible services, a feed back survey was conducted in the Fellows Lounge.
The analyses will be communicated by the end of October to all Fellows. A special thank you to the 171 Fellows interviewed.
At the Congress Opening Ceremony chaired by the ESC President, Professor Kim Fox. 198 Newly elected Fellows and 3 Newly elected Nurse Fellows were awarded their FESC status.
This was followed by a cocktail - an additional opportunity for the newly elected Fellows to celebrate their achievements and network with their peers.
The Fellowship Diplomas for a personalised recognition of the Fellowship status, were delivered in the Fellows Lounge. Souvenir photos were taken during the handout of the Diplomas of the Newly elected Fellows. Only 50 Fellows did not collect their diplomas, however those Fellows will receive their certificate by post in October.
