The Council for Cardiology Practice is established as a Council of the European Society of Cardiology. This Council consists of more then 5,000 private-practicing cardiologists in countries such as France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Belgium.

The first collaborative educational tool of the Council is the E-Journal of Cardiology Practice. The E-Journal consists of a three-line message, which are sent each week to cardiologists via e-mail. The message is written by leading experts in Europe, summarising an important topic in cardiology.
