Print version

Accreditation in Cardiology is regulated by two boards:

European Board for the Specialty of Cardiology (EBSC) is a joint initiative by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the UEMS Cardiology Section (European Union of Medical Specialists).

EBSC formulates recommendations aimed at harmonising training standards in cardiology throughout Europe and raising these standards to the highest possible level.

EBSC initiatives include:

  • Diploma of European Cardiologist
  • Subspecialty Accreditation: standardisation and recommendations
  • National training
  • And more

For more information on individual accreditation in cardiology, visit the EBSC Web Site:

The European Board for Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC) accredits international CME (Continuing Medical Education)  programmes in cardiology, such as:

  • Events
  • Internet based courses
  • CDROMs
  • CME articles and texts.

For more information on the application and accreditation processes, visit the EBAC Web Site: www.ebac-cme.org
