The prestigious Young Investigators’ Awards are sponsored by the ESC and illustrate the dedication of our Society to support original research and scientific excellence. The four best abstracts submitted by investigators under the age of 35 in the categories of Basic Science, Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation, Thrombosis, Population Science and Clinical Science have been selected for this competition.
A total of 1,895 abstracts were submitted for these 5 categories. These sessions offer a unique opportunity for young investigators to expose their most innovative and novel research to the scrutiny of panels of renowned experts in the specific fields. At the end of each of these 5 sessions, each of the international expert panels will select a winner who will receive the prize of 1,500 Euros while the other finalists will each receive a prize of 500 Euros. The related manuscripts are expected to be submitted for potential publication in one of the ESC journals.
