At the occasion of the ESC Congress 2005 in Stockholm, the European Society of Cardiology is once again pleased and honoured to distinguish a certain number of individuals and personalities, who have been nominated to receive awards in recognition of their outstanding professional achievements.

ESC Gold Medal 2005
Michal Tendera presented the Gold Medal of the ESC to John Camm, of St. George's Hospital Medical School, UK.
In December the ESC is publishing the "ESC Textbook of cardiovascular medecine" - the first official text book from an international cardiology society. Camm was one of the editors of the text book and the award recognises his outstanding contribution to science and education in the field of cardiac arrhythmia.
