Travel to and around Dublin

EuroPRevent 2012






Dublin has never been so accessible, with Dublin Airport, Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire Harbour within easy access to the city and county. You can travel by bus, rail, tram, car and bike around the city and county. A twenty minute journey will bring the visitor from the bustling city centre to the charming coastal towns and villages of the county.

By Air

Star AllianceDublin Airport is Ireland’s busiest airport, with over 75 airlines flying to over 200 destinations, including direct scheduled daily flights from North America, mainland Europe, Britain and weekly regular flights from the Emirates.

The airport is conveniently located 10km north of Dublin city centre, with excellent roads links to The Convention Centre Dublin (CCD), only 20 minutes away via the Port Tunnel, which brings visitors directly into the Spencer Dock area.

Registered participants travelling to the event can qualify for a discount of up to 20%, depending on fare and class of travel booked.

Discounts are offered on most published business and economy class fares, excluding website/internet fares, senior and youth fares, group fares and Round the World fares.

Please note : for travel from Japan and New Zealand special fares or discounts are offered by the participating airlines on their own network.

By Rail

Dublin’s two main train stations Connolly Station and Heuston Station are vital hubs transporting thousands of commuters and visitors to and around the city everyday. Intercity services run from Dublin’s Heuston and Connolly Stations to the major towns and cities in the country. The DART, Dublin coastal train, is ideal for exploring beyond the city.

Dublin is also served by LUAS, a state of the art light rail transit system. Luas connects you to Dublin city centre with a high capacity, high frequency, high speed service. There are convenient stop locations and excellent levels of comfort and safety with easy access at all stops.The Luas Red Line takes you directly to the Congress Centre.

By Public Transportation

Dublin Bus offers a high frequency, accessible and easy to use service from all over Dublin City Centre and the surrounding area. These services include city bus services, Railink, School link, Airlink, Nitelink and DART feeder buses. Dublin Bus also operates day tours and is obliged to provide services to people with disabilities.

By Taxi

Increased availability of taxis in Dublin means that it's easy to travel to and from Dublin city, day or night. There are now nearly 12,000 taxis available in Dublin city. Fares are regulated and tips are at your own discretion.
