Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in Central and Eastern Europe. While there is a decline in mortality from CVD in Western Europe, most of the Central and East European countries are faced with an increase. However, there are some exceptions like Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia, with declining mortality from CVD. The Wednesday afternoon symposium will address the huge differences in CVD morbidity and mortality across Europe and discuss the possible causes.
