Science Hot Line

Bringing the best of research to the ESC Congress 2009

The Science Hot Line is a session that brings the best of research to the Scientific Programme, further enhancing the quality of the ESC Congress.

In this category are high quality experimental studies with relevant results obtained after the end of the normal abstract submission deadline.

Selected abstracts will be published in the abstract cd-rom 

Session details: 31st August 11:00 to 12:30 in Room Oslo (Zone 6)

Abstracts submitted to the Science Hot Line Session contain data of a recent study (Although the data may be submitted to a journal for consideration, they should not be published before 15 June and not be presented at another international meeting prior to the ESC Congress).

TheScience Hot Line reports are expected to be of the highest quality and news value and will be graded accordingly. Abstracts are reviewed by a panel of expert reviewers.

Policy

  • The presenter must be the first author.
  • The selected abstracts will be presented in a specially highlighted oral session on Monday morning 31 August, featuring the selected abstracts in this category.
  • The session will also be covered in the ESC Congress Reports and Basic Science Reports with comments from the chairmen of the session.
  • Presenters will receive complimentary congress registration.

Results will be available in June

The authors understand that submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment to present if accepted, and that failure to present, if not justified, will jeopardise future acceptance of abstracts.
