Dear Friends, Colleagues and Members of the Working Group on Acute Cardiac Care,
Welcome to Versailles!
We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Acute Cardiac Care 2008 Congress.
The Working Group on Acute Cardiac Care of the European Society of Cardiology has now organised three European congressses on Acute Cardiac Care in Rome and Prague, in 2004 and 2006, and this year in Versailles.
These congresses are specifically designed to be forums where physicians, nurses, and all health care professionals involved in acute cardiac care can meet, share their experience, and exchange ideas. They also form unique opportunities to discuss the results of clinical trials and recent scientific data in various fields of acute cardiac care, such as acute coronary syndromes, acute heart failure, life-threatening arrhythmias etc.
Acute Cardiac Care therefore brings together cardiologists, internists, intensive care and emergency room physicians, basic scientists and nurses working in Intensive Cardiac Care Units. It is organised around state-of-the-art, keynote and how-to sessions, as well as satellite symposia and workshops in the field of Intensive Cardiac Care Unit treatment and equipment.
Participation in the meeting has increased from 1100 participants at the first Congress in Rome, to 1500 participants for the Prague meeting. We hope that this third edition will foster an increased interest and participation.
There is no need to present Versailles, your host city, a universal jewel of the period of enlightenment. Its proximity to Paris is also a considerable advantage for those wanting to visit the capital.
Sincerely,
Dr. M. Tubaro Dr. N. Danchin Dr. G. Filippatos
