Partners & Activities hosted during the event

In order to ensure messages adapted to local conditions and local languages, the partnership with the National Cardiac Society, the  National Heart Foundation and key industry sponsors with the common mission of promoting prevention messages to the general public have become essential in this event. This partnership is in general extended to other organisations that have activities that support the aim of the event. As such the ESC is creating a platform and providing a framework for national organisations to join their forces and to amplify their individual messages through this joint initiative.

Activites proposed on-site during the event are the result of the individual contributions of each of the partners involved in the event. Every year the activities vary except the Risk Assessment Stations, that have proven to be the major attraction pole of the event. People are cueing up from early in the morning to get their personal cardiovascular risk profile measured. Each test is followed by a full debriefing to help attendees understand the implications of their results and how to improve or maintain these for the sake of their hearts.

To attract people to the event educational and sport activities are proposed in the stage programme and in the park, which gives the public the possiblitiy to familiarise themselves with physical exercises and active lifestyles. Activities for all ages are proposed to the public during the event.

This year this fun, yet, educational event is in partnership with:
The European Society of Cardiology, the World Heart Federation, the Spanish Society of Cardiology, the Spanish Heart Foundation, the City of Barcelona, Barcelona Convention Bureau, AstraZeneca and Siemens AG Medical Solutions.
