EuroPCR 2008
“Together we achieve more”

EuroPCR08 welcomed an outstanding number of practitioners from all over the world of 10,479 in Barcelona, Spain, from 13-16 May 2008. The programme focused on 2 key messages : "what is best for my patient" and "together we achieve more".

Highlights of EuroPCR 2008 :
- A royal opening for EuroPCR 2008
Professor Marco J. FESC, opened EuroPCR 2008 with a reminder of the principal objectives of EuroPCR - to contribute to the advancement of education and information with the aim to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease. EuroPCR had the privilege and honour to receive H.S.H. Prince Albert of Monaco as special guest at the opening of the Course, concerning a new educational joint programme (EuroPCR, EAPCI and the Principality of Monaco) for cardiovascular education in sub-saharan Africa. - Learning the techniques
For the second year running, these educative sessions were very appreciated by the audience, and covered coronary, carotid and patent foramen ovale percutaneous interventions, with live case transmissions.
- Together we achieve more
The European Society of Cardiology, the Transcatheter Valve Symposium and the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery have successfully applied the "together we achieve more" concept, and were an integral part of the scientific programme.

- A major topic covered during the second day of EuroPCR 2008 was the Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).
