HIGHLIGHT ON

  Opening Session

The opening session (download agenda here) will take place in Sunday 21 June from 12:00 to 13:00 in Room 3. It will be followed by an opening lunch reception in the Exhibition Area.

  Main Session

Sudden cardiac death and cardiac arrhythmias: Beat It!
A European Initiative to improve care.
With Richard von Weizsäcker, former Mayor of Berlin and former President of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Monday 22 June from 14:00 to 15:30 in Room 3.

  Honorary Lecture

Einthoven Lecture 2009 by Professor Pedro Brugada, FESC.
During this lecture you will also learn about the winners of the EHRA Training Fellowship programme and the Young Investigators' Award sessions.
Monday 22 June from 16:30 to 18:00 in Room 3.

 

TYPES OF SESSIONS

  PRE-ARRANGED SESSIONS

Cardiostim sessions: sessions organised by Cardiostim as part of the new cooperation between EHRA and Cardiostim. 

Debates provide a lively yet balanced discussion on controversial issues.

Hotline session: A special session presented by experts and dedicated to the results of latest clinical trials on Tuesday 23 June from 16:30 to 18:00 in Room 6.

How to sessions
provide a unique opportunity for intense interaction between a limited audience and experts in the field.

Main sessions: renowned experts present state-of-the-art reviews on clinical cardiology, basic clinical cardiovascular research, and epidemiology with a perspective for today’s clinical practice.

Main sessions - allied professionals: the EHRA recognises the importance of working together with allied professionals by organising dedicated allied professionals sessions.

Meet the Experts sessions are focused on cardiac pacing and arrhythmias. Presentation of cases are discussed by a panel of experts.

Pre-taped sessions: video-taped sessions, different procedures are highlighted based on a video-taped case study.

Satellite Symposia: sessions organised by companies in the field of cardiac pacing and arrhythmias. Find out

Symposia: renowed experts present reviews on different aspects of electrophysiology and pacing in a short format.

Teaching courses: renowned teachers guide the audience through the process of unrevaling difficult electrograms.

Zoom-in sessions: presenters have to focus on the three best arguments based on scientific evidence for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. These arguments should be presented at the beginning of the presentation and then discussed during the rest of the presentation.

  ABSTRACT-BASED SESSIONS

Oral Abstract sessions: These are competitive sessions in which the results of original research on cardiovascular ultrasound are presented.

Young Investigators’ Award sessions: The five best abstracts submitted in Basic Science and in Clinical Science have been selected for oral presentation. A panel of experts will judge the competition and each finalist will receive a certificate and complimentary registration. The winner will receive a prize of €1000 and the two runners up a prize of €500 each.

YIA Clinical Studies: Sunday 21 June from 14:15 to 15:45 in Room 8.
YIA Basic Research: Monday 22 June from 11:00 to 12:30 in Room 4. 

Moderated Poster sessions: The authors of the best abstracts from each poster session will briefly illustrate the content of their abstract and will take part in a specific discussion with one chairperson in the Poster Area during the coffee breaks.

Poster sessions: Poster sessions consist of a visual display of research highlights. There are four half-days of poster displays. Poster presenters are expected to be present at their poster during the coffee break.

Featured Poster session: 50 best posters will be presented during a special poster session at the opening cocktail on Sunday 21 June 2009 from 13:00 - 14:00 and will be on display until 18:00.

Flash session: 15 posters displayed in the Poster Area will be highlighted during a special 90 minute session on Monday 22 June from 11:00 to 12:30 in Room 8.
