Purpose
The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to ensure a transparent nominating process for vacant positions in the Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (CCNAP). Its task is to choose a slate of nominated candidates that is presented to the CCNAP Board.
Nominating process
- The CCNAP Board will communicate to the Nominating Committee the positions that need to be filled and relevant competencies that are needed.*
- A call for nominees will go out to all committees and the full membership of CCNAP for vacant positions in CCNAP.
- Applicants should submit a letter of application (including reason for seeking position and relevant experience and expertise) and a 2-page CV.
- Applicants will be reviewed and a slate of nominated candidates will be prepared by the Nominating Committee.
- Decisions within the Nominating Committee will be made by a majority of the votes of the committee members.
- The slate of candidates will be presented to the CCNAP Board for approval at the Board Meeting held during the Annual Spring Meeting.
- The approval will take place under the Chair’s authority. If one candidate only is proposed for any position, a vote will take place in any case. If he/she is not approved, his/her candidature will fail and the Nominating Committee must reconsider the candidature and make a new proposal to the Board. The proposed candidate(s) will be approved by the majority of votes of the Board members present.
- Approved candidates will take up their positions at the CCNAP Board Meeting held during the ESC Congress.
Committee members
The Nominating Committee is led by the Past-Chair of CCNAP and composed of a representative from the National Societies Committee, the Education Committee, the Scientific Programme Committee, and the Advisory Committee (a total of 5 members).

- CCNAP Board members cannot be members of the Nominating Committee (except in the capacity as Past-Chair).
- Persons having served on the Nominating Committee cannot serve again until 4 years after completion of last term on the committee.
*Competencies refer to ensuring that the CCNAP Board members represent a diversity of areas of clinical and research expertise, and organisational experience (e.g. leadership, secretarial, treasury experience).
