Welcome to the European Society of Cardiology. Our mission: to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease in Europe

Advisory Committee

Purpose

The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to provide advice to the Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (CCNAP) Board on matters relating to specific topics of cardiovascular care, professional practice, education for cardiovascular nurses and allied professionals, and policy issues. CCNAP also aims to keep track of outstanding professionals that have contributed significantly to the development of cardiovascular nursing and allied professions in Europe and wish for them to serve as a resource within CCNAP.

Activities

Members of the Advisory Committee may be requested to:

  • provide input to the strategic plan, policies and activities of CCNAP.
  • serve as a representative of CCNAP if requested in designated activities within the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and its constituent bodies (committees, task forces), or in collaborative activities with other organisations
  • encourage appropriate individuals to apply for CCNAP committee and board positions.
  • advise the Scientific Programme Committee as to topics and speakers for scientific meetings of the ESC and its constituent bodies.

The Vice-Chair of CCNAP serves as liaison to the Advisory Committee. A representative from the Advisory Committee is elected to serve on the Nominating Committee of CCNAP (2-year term).

Committee Members

Members of the Advisory Committee are appointed by the Board of CCNAP for a 4 year term subject to renewal. Renewal is based on continuing active engagement in cardiovascular care and member willingness to continue. Past-Chairs of CCNAP (formerly WG24) are automatically invited to be on the Advisory Committee once their term of office is completed.
