Appropriate use criteria for cardiac radionuclide imaging

Topics: Nuclear cardio & CT (Non-invasive imaging)
Authors: Johan De Sutter, MD, PhD

This document is an update of a previous document published 4 years ago and represents the current understanding of the clinical benefit of cardiac radionuclide imaging with respect to health outcomes and survival.  It is intended to provide a practical guide to clinicians and patients in more than 60 clinical scenarios. Therefore, these different scenarios are scored for appropriate use of radionuclide imaging in three categories: appropriate, inappropriate and uncertain.  For clinicians it is a good summary of current appropriate use of ever evolving technology in cardiac radionuclide imaging.
