Dr Pasquale Perrone-Filardi, ChairmanThe ESC Working Group on Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT) aims to promote research, teaching and clinical activity of Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT.

The Working Group contributes to the organisation of the ESC Congress and publishes regular newletters, appropriate guidelines and recommendations. It also arranges bi-annual Brainstorming meetings and participates in organising the main congress of the field on Europe, The International Conference of Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Imaging (ICNC). The Working Group may also design, coordinate and participate to appropriate surveys and multi-centre research trials.

A novel dose-saving fast-track algorithm

Non-invasive assessment of coronary artery disease with CT coronary angiography and SPECT: a novel dose-saving fast-track algorithm.
The present study focuses on two important aspects in cardiac imaging:
a) the combination of morphology and perfusion,
b) radiation exposure. The authors evaluated a straightforward algorithm with important results: The stepwise approach with performance of additional imaging modalities in pathologic cases only, led to excellent results with optimally selected pts for invasive procedures, and led furthermore to a reduction of radiation exposure.
