ESC Working Group on Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance
The ESC Working Group for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance aims at being the representative trans-national scientific organisation for physicians, scientists, and technologists who work in the field of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR).
The purposes of the Working Group for CMR are to stimulate and disseminate the knowledge and the use of CMR through education, quality control, research, and training.

Aims
The mission of the ESC Working Group on Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance is to:
- Promote the knowledge of optimal clinical effectiveness of CMR through professional education, establishment of standards for quality assurance and professional training, continued medical education, and development of evidence-based guidelines for its use to enhance patient care and improve the quality of cardiovascular medical practice.
- Support coordinated research efforts to promote further development and applications of CMR, and to investigate accuracy, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness in cardiovascular diagnosis.
- Provide a forum for scientific exchange and information on CMR, through organisation of an annual scientific conference, through the organization of training courses directly or through scientific sponsorship and through establishing close working relationships with societies in related fields.
- Provide the possibility of an European accreditation facility to assure the homogeneity of CMR examination through Europe.
- Build a strong european membership body of physicians, scientists, technologists, with interest in clinical applications or research in CMR.
