Cellular Biology of the Heart

Developing translational research projects, from signalling molecules to phase II proof-of-concept trials

Working Group of Cellular Biology is looking for active participants in the field of cell (cardiovascular) biology and physiology. It aims at gathering an active group of basic scientists and clinicians who will work together at developing translational research projects, from signalling molecules to phase II proof-of-concept trials.

To realise this ambitious plan during the next five years, the Working Group needs basic scientists who want to move new basic knowledge and fundamental concepts into clinical practice.

In the mean time, the Working group wants to attract physicians who are essential to set up clinical « models » of diseases, specifically in the field of ischemic cardiomyopathies, and run early phase clinical trials.

In addition to active collaborations, especially with other working groups, our group has a stronghold in important international meetings, like the annual heart failure winter meeting and the ESC congress. Also support is provided to small, but focused initiatives and working groups. To enhance visibility and resources also representatives of industry are invited to join this vibrant group of scientists.

Chairman 2010-2012
