Education
The Working Group is active in delivering educational programmes at other international congresses and meetings and in their home institutions.
For the second year, the Working Group delivers the Pexieder Award to the best abstract submitter at its annual meeting.
- Postgraduate education programs in the field of cardiovascular anatomy and pathology:
Cardiac Anatomy and Pathology Live Sessions at the annual congress of the ESC. For the first time ever in the history of these sessions, they were delivered with 3D imaging at the 2010 ESC Congress in Stockholm, setting a landmark for education in Cardiovascular medicine.
Research
Our Working Group promotes exchange and interactions amongst our members covering two main areas of research:
- Human cardiovascular anatomy and pathology
The Working Group research interests range from acquired to congenital heart diseases using techniques from gross morphology to molecular biology.
- Normal and abnormal cardiac development
The Working Group is actively involved in the investigation of normal and abnormal development of the heart and vasculature as it ultimately relates to human disease.
