I studied medicine in Germany and Switzerland, focusing first on Interventional Cardiology in 1996, then on internal Medicine and Non-invasive imaging, esp. Cardiac- CT in 2000, General Cardiology in 2001, Intensive Care in 2002 and Diabetology in 2006.
I am currently Chief of Clinic of Cardiology, Pneumology, Angiology, Klinik am Eichert, in Göppingen, Germany.
I discovered first the ESC by participating in the annual ESC congress, when submitting abstracts.
In 2006, I was officially invited to join the WG on Nuclear Cardiology, to create an official platform for Cardiac-CT - In the meantime, the WG was renamed "Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT".
Since then, my task is to represent the new imaging modality ´"Cardiac Computed Tomography" within the established Working Group "Nuclear Cardiology". With the changing border between in- and outpatient treatment of cardiology patients, i believe that the integration of Cardiac- CT in an official society is a tremendous asset to influence this field at a European level.
In addition, the acceptance of Cardiac CT within the cardiology community has been increased by scientific publications, international presentations and training courses.
I am very grateful for the new international contacts throughout Europe and beyond, and especially for the fruitful discussions with interesting colleagues.
