The main topic of the upcoming Eurothrombosis 2007 meeting in Nijmegen is
increasing the knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of thrombosis in cardiovascular disease.
The meeting will be organised by the ESC Working Group on Thrombosis.
The scientific highlight will be the discussion of the recent trials in the treatment of arterial thrombosis.
The main difference with previous meetings is that the focus will be more concentrated on the mechanical reperfusion of ST elevation myocardial infarction, whereas in the previous meetings pharmacological reperfusion therapy was the highlight.
The former name of the meeting was Update in Thrombolysis.
The target audience is mainly the membership of the ESC Working Group on Thrombosis, but other cardiologists from Europe are also welcome.
The next meeting will be held in Oslo in 2009.
