Stefan Anker reviews Heart Failure Congress 2010

Heart Failure Association Newsletter - April 2010

Date: 12 Apr 2010

Dear colleagues,

I am very proud to be able to present a comprehensive and inspiring Scientific Programme at Heart Failure 2010 in Berlin from 29 May to 1 June. We have learnt from our long experience of organising Heart Failure congresses, listened to delegate remarks and introduced innovative ideas in order to create a programme that will be interesting, educational and useful.

The full Scientific Programme is online for consultation on sessions, presenters, abstracts and more. We invite you to browse through the comprehensive programme: there is something for everybody.

Following requests from delegates, real life cases will be used and Guidelines explained during five Clinical Interactive Educational sessions organised by heart failure experts – voting, interactive discussion and questions from the audience are encouraged. Improving patients’ care is foremost in our thoughts and we have dedicated sessions to telemedicine, women, aging and pain management. Let's not forget co-morbidities and new specialised sessions dealing with oncology and diabetes as well as full tracks on both basic and translational science which are appreciated by researchers seeking up to date information.

New this year:  Due to an excellent response, there are now  more Late Breaking Trials sessions plus a session covering Late Breaking basic science research, Your usual favourites haven't been left out: debates, Judges Choice and nursing abstract sessions and the ever-popular Highlights of the congress are still there for you to enjoy. And if you have any energy left, take a stroll round the Exhibition and Poster area!

I look forward to seeing you in Berlin at the end of May. The congress centre is within easy reach of Berlin and I'm sure that you will be able to make the most of the city in the spring evenings after an eventful day at Heart Failure 2010.

Yours sincerely

Stefan Anker
