EP Wire is a picture of daily EP practice in Europe through on-line surveys, an initiative from Prof John Morgan, previous Chair of the Initiatives Committee.
Guidelines & recommendations on EP practice are usually drawn from the results of multicenter trials. However, these trials are often conducted in selected centres under special conditions . In contrast, daily practice is generally influenced by many factors different to those strictly scientific.

The idea of the EP wire is to send the centers part of the Research Network a short survey (4 to 10 questions maximum) about your practice on a specific EP topic. The results of each survey will be published in Europace Journal in a section called “EP Wire”.

The subjects selected are the following:

  • Validation of success following atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation
  • Sudden cardiac death stratification in asymptomatic pre excitation
  • What is your attitude towards redundant leads and how do you perform lead extraction?
  • Screening of arrhythmogenic syndromes
  • Implantable Cardiac Devices (ICD) deactivation
  • Remote Monitoring (RM)
  • Defibrillation Testing at the time of Implantable Cardiac Devices (ICD)

As a participant your centre participation will be acknowledged in an appendix section of journal and on the EHRA website.
