EHRA is enjoying a very sparkling start. As you may have already noticed, our eNewsletter has a new format and a new layout which we hope you will appreciate as much as we do. In this respect, your comments and feedback are greatly welcome.
Apart from several important upcoming EHRA initiatives reported in the current issue of the eNewsletter, you will be pleased to know that the Working Group on eCardiology of the European Society of Cardiology has agreed to elect EP Europace Journal as one of its official journals and to jointly conduct EHRA EUROPACE 2013.
Beginning in February 2012, EP- Europace Journal will be steered by a new Editorial Board. Together with Professor John Camm, Editor-in-Chief of EP-Europace Journal, the entire EHRA Board thanks all the scientists and physicians who have contributed immensely to the success of the journal. At the same time, we welcome the new Associate Editors and new editorial Board members. Special wishes are directed to both Professor Antonio Zaza (Deputy Editor – Basic and experimental Science) and Professor Philippe Chevalier (e-Cardiology) representative the ESC Working Groups on Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology and on e-Cardiology, respectively. Their activity will significantly enrich journal content and visibility in- and out-side the electrophysiological community.
The EHRA Spring Summit meeting has become a traditional event in the Association calendar. We are very proud of the success of the previous sessions and we are pleased to continue this tradition by announcing the next EHRA Spring Summit will be held at the European Heart House in Sophia Antipolis on 19 – 20 March, 2012.
The EHRA Spring Summit is a yearly meeting opportunity for the national Working Groups operating in the 54 ESC-associated nations. It is an occasion for the exchange of ideas and projects, and the opportunity to meet EHRA leadership.
For the EHRA Board it is a unique opportunity to gather feedback about the different initiatives conducted at European level. It is also the occasion to involve and share with each of the national Working Groups upcoming EHRA initiatives, scientific activities and public awareness projects.
The focus of this years EHRA Spring Summit meeting is “Post-graduate education in a changing and challenging environment“. Indeed, we are anticipating that in the coming years European cardiology and its subspecialties will face a number of challenges in both education and training activities. Since EHRA wants to be ready to face this challenging environment and to enhance the development of the profession, we feel that it is vital to have a face to face meeting with representatives of Electrophysiology and Cardiac Pacing Working Groups.
Best regards,
Professor Angelo Auricchio, President of EHRA
