Cardiovascular prevention and international health: time for action

EJCPR Editor-in-Chief Rick Grobbee calls for action!

Date: 28 Jul 2011
To promote global consciousness and the implementation of the preventive strategies necessary, more awareness, education and evidence for action needs to be generated, not least by the research community.

The time to get involved is now. Although important steps have been taken towards effective solutions, research on chronic disease in an international health context is only in its early phases.

The European Journal of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (EJCPR) represents a large community of leading scientists and clinicians with the potential to extend their contributions to the prevention of cardiovascular disease beyond affluent societies.

With the September 2011 UN General Assembly on Chronic Disease in New York nearing rapidly, we encourage you to submit manuscripts particularly addressing this topic to support the call for prioritisation of chronic disease on the Global Health Agenda.

The first 2012 issue of the journal will summarize the discussions in New York and review major aspects of the global burden of cardiovascular disease and strategies for intervention and prevention.

Submit your manuscripts!
