Cardiac Rehabilitation is a secondary prevention programme, with exercise as the cornerstone of a comprehensive intervention which includes an educational programme, risk factors control and the patient’s voluntarily adoption of a healthy lifestyle to be kept for lifetime.

The EACPR Cardiac Rehabilitation section focuses on:
Investigation: to fulfil the gap of knowledge in Cardiac Rehabilitation
Recognition: to position Cardiac Rehabilitation as a priority or an important intervention by cardiologists and by Health Authorities in European Countries
Creation of a network of all the individual specialists and all the national organisations working in the Cardiac Rehabilitation field in Europe
Definition of the standards for certification of the Cardiac Rehabilitation centres and for the different specialists (continuous process of self-education)
