Committees & Study Groups

Following the creation of the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the ESC, several innovations have been introduced, one of which being the decision to develop HFA-activities bottom-up, through the formation of Committees and Study Groups.

Committees

• Heart Failure Management Programmes Network
  Members are institutions offering an outpatient, multidisciplinary programme designed to improve care delivery to patients with symptomatic heart failure
• Committee on Heart Failure Surveys & Registries
  To promote surveys/registries on heart failure in ESC countries in order to improve the knowledge of the management of this disease across Europe
• Education Committee
  To facilitate the delivery of the mission of the HFA of the ESC by organising and encouraging education about heart failure amongst professionals, patients and society.
• HFA-Industry Committee
  To improve heart failure care through awareness, education and research among the public, patients and their healthcare providers and decision makers.
• Committee on National Heart Failure Societies
  To create a European network of national heart failure societies or working groups in order to improve the management of patients with heart failure.
  
• Committee on Translational Research
  To promote the development, application and translation of basic science knowledge to clinically relevant questions and targets in the field of heart failure.
  

Study Groups

• Study Group on Advanced Heart Failure
  To improve the knowledge and care of patients with advanced heart failure
• Study Group on Acute Heart Failure
  To communicate with the Heart Failure Working Groups of the European National Societies about implementation and evaluation of the "New Guidelines on Acute Heart Failure"
• Study Group on Diastolic Heart Failure
  To promote clinical recognition, therapy and research of diastolic heart failure within the Heart Failure Association of the ESC.
  
• Study Group on EU Proposals
  To promote the interaction among heart failure researchers with a combined basic science and clinical focus
