Welcome letter

Welcome to the European Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation! (EACPR)

Prof Hugo Saner
Prof. Dr Hugo Saner
EACPR President

The association is a professional organisation of specialists in the fields of Epidemiology, Public Health, Prevention, Health Policy, Rehabilitation, Exercise Physiology and Basic Research within the framework of the European Society of Cardiology. Our mission is to promote excellence in research, practice, education and policy in cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation in Europe.

As of today, over 1,400 members from most European countries and with scientific expertise and a special interest in Cardiovascular Epidemiology, Prevention and Rehabilitation actively contribute to the Association

The EACPR has a wide range of assets and is an educational resource for European cardiology. Its Guidelines Committee is working closely with other professional societies involved in Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation. The HeartScore®  programme is a web-based interactive programme for predicting and managing the risk of heart attack and stroke in Europe and is an implementation tool of the European Guidelines on CVD Prevention on a national level. EuroAction is a Pan-European project in preventive cardiology demonstrating how the European Guidelines on CVD Prevention can be applied in everyday clinical practice. EuroAspire III is the 3rd multi-centre survey to measure implementation of previous Joint European Societies’ Guidelines. The HeartQol Study aims to measure the quality of life of cardiac patients by a quality of life core questionnaire to be used for international studies, indication and evaluation of cardiac events and treatments including rehabilitation.

The European Journal for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (EJCPR) is the official Journal of the EACPR. It is a key scientific forum addressing the causes and prevention of CVD and the rehabilitation of those with the disease.

The EACPR has an international presence and its official annual congress is EuroPrevent. It is held each spring and the next edition will take place in Paris, France on 1-3 May 2008

If you have a professional interest in Cardiovascular Epidemiology, Prevention and Rehabilitation and if you are member of a national professional Association in this field, you are kindly invited to join now and to discover the EACPR membership benefits.

Let’s improve Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation in Europe together!

Prof. Dr. Hugo Saner
EACPR President
