ESC Mission: To reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease in Europe
The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) represents nearly 53,000 cardiology professionals across Europe and the Mediterranean. The ESC comprises 51 National Cardiac Societies, 19 Working Groups, 5 Associations and 5 Councils. It also includes the distinguished community of ESC Fellows and Nurse Fellows (Fellow, FESC; Nurse Fellow, NFESC).
To fulfil its mission of "reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease in Europe", the ESC provides an array of scientific and educational activities, such as the production and continuous updating of Clinical Practice Guidelines, the organisation of educational courses and initiatives, pan-European surveys on specific disease areas and the ESC Congress, the largest medical meeting in Europe. The ESC is proud to hold, in conjunction with its constituent bodies, six subspecialty congresses, which are becoming increasingly popular within the profession.
The ESC also edits and publishes 7 of the world's leading journals on cardiology: the European Heart Journal, Cardiovascular Research, Heart Failure, Europace, Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Nursing and Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation.

ESC Logo & Identity
The European Society of Cardiology should be referenced by its name, in full, or by the acronym ESC. Any alternative wording of the Society name is incorrect. The annual congress of the ESC is termed the ESC Congress 2008 (or appropriate date) and should be referenced appropriately.
Please note that the logo of the ESC, and its usage, is subject to strict copyright regulations. For information on its usage or to request ESC endorsement of an educational activity, see the ESC Corporate Identity section.
The ESC Web Site
The official Web Site of the ESC is http://www.escardio.org (as in European Society of Cardiology). As such, the ESC should not be referred to as Escardio but as the ‘ESC’ or ‘European Society of Cardiology’ in full.
The ESC Web Site is managed in-house by the ESC Web Department, based at the European Heart House. |
