Cellular Biology of the Heart

Print version

Pieter A. Doevendans, Chairman

Dear Colleagues,

The Working Group of Cellular Biology is looking for active participants in the field of (stem) cell biology and physiology. By bringing together an active group of members we will apply for a large EU grant on stem cell research using human stem cells as an alternative for animal studies and to develop in vitro models for human disease. To realize these ambitious plans during the next five years, the Working Group needs basic scientists who think this concept is appealing. In addition physicians are essential to determine the value of the disease models.

In addition to active collaboration the working group has a stronghold in important international meetings, like the annual heart failure winter meeting and the ESC congres. Also support is provided to small, but focused initiatives and working groups. To enhance visibility and resources also representatives of industry are invited to join this vibrant group of scientists.

Pieter A. Doevendans
Chairman
